A 24-year-old NEET aspirant from Gujarat was found dead in her hostel room in Kota, Rajasthan on Wednesday. The student allegedly died by suicide, marking the fifth such case in the city this year.
Incident Discovered in the Morning
The tragic incident came to light around 9 AM when the student failed to respond or open the door, according to the police. When the hostel authorities forced the door open, they found her hanging from the ceiling fan in her room.

Rising Suicides Among Kota Students
Kota, known as a major coaching hub for NEET and JEE aspirants, has witnessed a disturbing rise in student suicides. This incident follows the suicide of an 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Odisha on January 17.
Additionally, on January 16, a JEE aspirant from Odisha was also found dead in his hostel room. Two weeks ago, two other JEE aspirants, one from Madhya Pradesh and another from Haryana, died by suicide in similar circumstances.
Concern Over Student Mental Health
The increasing number of student suicides in Kota has raised serious concerns about academic pressure and mental health issues among aspirants preparing for highly competitive exams. Authorities and educational institutions are under pressure to take stronger mental health support measures to prevent further tragedies.
