IMD Hyderabad Issues Orange Alert for Heavy Rainfall Across Telangana Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, and parts of Maharashtra as heavy rains continue to disrupt normal life across several states. A yellow alert has also been declared for Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh.


Uttarakhand: Continuous Heavy Rainfall Triggers Alert

The IMD issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand on August 29, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall.

  • Two people are missing and two injured in Chamoli district after debris flow caused by rain.

  • The IMD forecasts isolated heavy rainfall in the state over the next seven days.


Arunachal Pradesh & Maharashtra on Orange Alert

Arunachal Pradesh and several parts of Maharashtra are also under an orange alert.

  • Madhya Maharashtra and the Ghat regions are expected to receive intense downpours.

  • In the past 24 hours, heavy rain has caused eight deaths in Maharashtra, with one person still missing.


Jammu & Kashmir: Floods in Jammu Division

The IMD has predicted moderate showers in Jammu division on August 29–30.

  • Tawi River is overflowing, causing severe flooding and damage to homes and shops.

  • Roads and bridges have been washed away due to continuous rainfall.


Himachal Pradesh: Roads and Power Supply Disrupted

Himachal Pradesh is under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall.

  • Over 524 roads are blocked, including two national highways.

  • More than 1,200 transformers and 400 water supply schemes have been affected.

  • Since June 20, the monsoon has claimed 312 lives in the state.


Rajasthan & Gujarat: Heavy Showers Predicted

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Rajasthan with warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall in East Rajasthan on August 31.

  • West Rajasthan will also see heavy showers on August 30–31.

  • Gujarat is expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall in several districts.


Delhi Weather: Cloudy Skies with Light Rain

In the national capital, the weather will remain cloudy with chances of light rain or thundershowers till the end of August.

  • Maximum temperature: 33–35°C

  • Minimum temperature: 23–25°C


Uttar Pradesh: Ganga and Yamuna Near Danger Mark

Floods in Uttar Pradesh have impacted over 1.5 lakh people as the Ganga and Yamuna rivers approached danger levels.

  • 76 roads and multiple streets are submerged.

  • Relief camps have been set up for displaced families.

  • Heavy rainfall is predicted in East and West UP between August 31 and September 2.
