Manav Suthar in Line for India Test Debut vs West Indies 2025

Rajasthan left-arm spinner Manav Suthar is under consideration for his first international call-up for India’s upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies, following impressive performances for India A.

Suthar’s Rise in Domestic Cricket

The 23-year-old spinner made his first-class debut in February 2022 and has since taken 95 wickets in 23 matches at an average of 27.50. His record includes four five-wicket hauls, highlighting his ability to turn matches with his spin bowling.

In List A cricket, Suthar has claimed 22 wickets in 17 matches at an average of 29.40, while in 15 T20 games, he has picked up 10 wickets at an economy rate of 7.05.

Breakthrough Performance for India A

Suthar caught the selectors’ attention with a five-wicket haul against Australia A in the ongoing 2nd Unofficial Test at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. His performance against a strong Australian lineup has strengthened his case for a Test debut.

Sources suggest that the Indian team management plans to groom Suthar alongside senior spinners like Ravindra Jadeja, ensuring he develops under the guidance of experienced players.
