New Year Alert in Rajasthan: Police Seize 150kg Explosives from Vehicle, 2 Arrested

In a major New Year security operation, Rajasthan police seized around 150kg of ammonium nitrate explosives from a vehicle on the Tonk–Jaipur highway on New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2025. Police detained two men traveling in the car and began questioning them about the source and destination of the explosives.

Seizure Details

Police found the explosives hidden in a Maruti Ciaz car, concealed inside sacks of urea. They also recovered:

  • 200 explosive batteries

  • 1,100 meters of electric wire

DSP Mrityunjay Mishra confirmed the arrests, identifying the men as Surendra and Surendra Mochi. The vehicle was heading toward Bundi when police intercepted it.
