Rajasthan’s New Initiative
The Rajasthan government has announced that MBBS courses will be available in Hindi starting from the 2024-2025 academic session. This decision, made on Hindi Diwas (September 14), marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility in medical education.

Rajasthan’s move follows similar initiatives by Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which have already implemented Hindi as a medium of instruction for medical courses. Uttarakhand also adopted this approach last year.

The transition will begin at two medical colleges: Sampurnanand Medical College in Jodhpur and Medical College of Barmer, both affiliated with Marwar Medical University. Hindi will be offered as an additional option alongside English.

Students will have the option to choose between Hindi and English for their studies. To support this shift, the Rajasthan government will provide textbooks and study materials in Hindi, starting with first-year MBBS students.
