“Vaibhav Suryavanshi Becomes IPL’s Youngest Crorepati with Rs 1.10 Crore Deal to Rajasthan Royals”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: IPL’s Youngest Crorepati
In a groundbreaking moment for Indian cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, just 13 years old, became the youngest IPL player to earn a crore after Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured him for Rs 1.10 crore during the auction held in Jeddah. Vaibhav, who had his base price set at Rs 30 lakh, captured the attention of both Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals following impressive trials.

Rahul Dravid Explains RR’s Decision
Rahul Dravid, the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, elaborated on the franchise’s decision to bid for the young talent. Dravid highlighted Vaibhav’s performance during the trials as a key factor: “Vaibhav came to our trials, and we were really happy with what we saw,” said Dravid. His ability to perform under pressure made him a strong contender for RR, as he showcased exceptional skills during trials in Nagpur and Delhi. Vaibhav impressed both teams, with RR ultimately securing him.

Impressive Trials and Performance
Vaibhav’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, a farmer and part-time journalist from Tajpur, Samastipur in Bihar, explained that his son had performed outstandingly in both the Rajasthan and Delhi trials. In Nagpur, Vaibhav hit three consecutive sixes in a trial, scoring 17 runs in one over, which stood out to the selectors. This remarkable feat helped secure his place with RR.

A Young Talent with Big Records
Vaibhav’s IPL contract is not the only milestone in his budding career. Earlier this year, he became the youngest international centurion at just 13 years and 188 days when he scored a century in the first Youth Test between India U-19 and Australia U-19 in Chennai. His century, achieved in 58 balls, also set an Indian record for the fastest Youth Test century.

Rajasthan Royals’ Auction Strategy
Discussing RR’s auction strategy, Dravid emphasized the team’s focus on strengthening its bowling attack after retaining its core group of Indian batters. He expressed satisfaction in achieving this target, which is expected to fortify RR’s lineup for the upcoming IPL season.

Vaibhav’s Future in Cricket
Vaibhav is currently representing India in the U-19 Asia Cup in Dubai. Dravid praised his skills, saying, “I think he has got some really good skills. So we thought it might be a good environment for him to grow.”

Conclusion
With this remarkable achievement, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has set a new benchmark in the Indian Premier League as the youngest player ever to secure an IPL contract, opening doors to a promising career in Indian cricket.
